pine ridge community garden

i am on the green team at work. we started it last winter in order to try to green up this office. its funny that we are an environmental agency but a lot of the building practices and attitudes of the employees are quite anti-environment. anyway, in order to counter this we have been trying to put forward some initiatives inside and outside and one of them is a community garden. i have been growing a number of things in my plot, including cherry and plum tomatoes, green and banana peppers, basil, cilantro, cucumbers, peas, zucchini, buttercup squash, watermelon and pumpkins. i am so proud of the garden, and happy to be able to donate some of my food to the local food bank. i usually work on the garden at lunch, weeding and harvesting my crop. its a great stress release and a nice opportunity to have some outdoor space as i don't currently have any!!

winter is time for....new boots!

with money that i got for christmas this year, i have bought myself some sweet new boots. i shopped around a lot for something fashionable, but also warm and waterproof, and i settled on these Merrell Prevoz.



gives new meaning to that U2 song, "put on your boots, your sexy boots". these babies are appropriate for both work and play in my opinion. now i just need to find a jacket!
